Explanation of the Conflict Between Churches of Moscow and Constantinople

 On the 15th of October 2018, the Russian Orthodox Church ceased the Eucharistic communion with the Church of Constantinople. In this video, recorded in November 2021, Metropolitan Hilarion explains the reasons for that decision.

On July 19th 2023, the Council of Bishops of the Russian Orthodox Church approved a document entitled “The Distortion of the Orthodox Doctrine of the Church in the Actions and Words of the Hierarchy of the Patriarchate of Constantinople”. On the 24th of August it was approved by the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church.
